About the International Liver CongressTM 2015
The International Liver Congress™ is a high calibre and multi-disciplinary scientific Congress which attracts up to 11,000 delegates annually. The Congress fosters advances in hepatology and unveils new and exciting data.
2015 is set to be a landmark year for EASL. Not only will EASL be celebrating its 50th Congress, but the Journal of Hepatology also turns 30.
The International Liver CongressTM will be held from April 22-26 in Vienna, Austria.
EASL expects approximately 11,000 delegates and media from around the world to attend.

Registration
Yes, The International Liver Congress™ 2015 is open and free of charge to official representatives of print, broadcast and electronic media.
It is recommended that you register in advance of the Congress. If you are interested in attending, please contact the ILC Press Office and send a copy of your press card and/or commissioning letter as part of your application to ilc.press@easloffice.eu.
Once your credentials have been approved by the ILC Press Office, you will receive an email containing log-in details to access the online registration platform. This will enable you to complete your registration, book accommodation and sign up to early morning workshops.
Only registered media representatives will be permitted to access the media areas.
Please send the complete URL’s of three relevant hepatology/liver disease/health blog posts you have written in 2013/2014 to ilc.press@easloffice.eu, with proof that you have an online following and that you have been re-blogged or published by others or cited on other blog sites.
Once your credentials have been approved by the ILC Press Office, you will receive an email containing log-in details to access the online registration platform. This will enable you to complete your registration, book accommodation and sign up to early morning workshops.
Only registered media representatives will be permitted to access the media areas.
Onsite registration is possible, however can take some time as you will be required to queue with other attendees at the registration desk. We therefore strongly encourage you to register in advance so that we can make sure that you have all of the information you need ahead of time. If do you want to register onsite, please bring proof of media accreditation, along with a valid passport or photo ID-card, to the registration desk at the Congress. Only registered media representatives will be permitted to access the media areas.

Accredited journalists must collect their press badge onsite from the registration desk. The badge will permit admission to the Congress and the media areas. You will be asked to provide proof to show that you are the person indicated on the badge, so please ensure that you have your ID card or passport to hand.

EASL welcomes the interest of the media in matters relating to hepatology. The International Liver Congress™ 2015 is open and free of charge to official representatives of print, broadcast and electronic media.
Unfortunately, EASL does not offer grants or sponsorship opportunities for media to attend the Congress.

Embargo Policy
You are required to respect the times and dates of the embargoes, as follows:
Abstracts for The International Liver Congress™ 2015 will be published online as follows:
- Wednesday 8 April 2015 at 10:00 CEST – a large quantity of abstracts showing abstract title, author names and abstract data will be posted online two weeks ahead of the congress. These abstracts are publicly available from this time onwards.
- A smaller quantity of abstracts will be retained and presented during The International Liver Congress™ 2015 official ILC Press Office activities and/or in official Press Office materials. These abstracts will be made available to media at 07:00 CEST on the day the abstract is presented at the Congress and can be reported on from this time. Any earlier reporting will be in violation of the embargo
For late breaker abstracts:
- Late breaker abstracts selected for poster presentation will be made available at 07:00 CEST on Thursday 23 April 2015
- Late breaker abstracts selected for oral presentation will be made available at 07:00 CEST on Saturday 25 April 2015
A daily schedule listing all The International Liver Congress™ 2015 Press Conferences will be displayed in The International Liver CongressTM 2015 Press Office, located in Press Center C in hall C on the ground floor of the Exhibition Center at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center.
Official media materials will be made available at The International Liver Congress™ 2015 to registered journalists and will also be available to access online.

The embargo policy states that media must not publish coverage of any data contained in the embargoed abstracts during The International Liver Congress™ 2015 official Press Office activities or in official Press Office materials until the embargo lifts at 7:00 CEST on the day of the abstract presentation. Journalists, industry, investigators and/or study sponsors must abide by the embargo times set by EASL.

Accommodation

Once your credentials have been approved by the ILC Press Office, you will receive an email containing log-in details to access the online registration platform. This will enable you to complete your registration, book accommodation and sign up to early morning workshops. Full payment is requested in order to confirm the hotel booking.
Yes, confirmation will be sent to you by email as soon as the hotel booking is confirmed and the requested payment is received.
In order to receive the negotiated reduced rates, hotel bookings can only be made through the registration portal.

he Press Office will be located in Press Center C on the Ground floor. It will be clearly sign posted at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center in Vienna.
Media representatives will be notified about the location of the Press Office at the time of their arrival and registration at the Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center in Vienna.
The Press Conferences will be located in Schubert Room 1, Messe Wien Exhibition & Congress Center. The press conference room will be sign posted within the Congress.

The official language of The International Liver Congress™ 2015 is English. Simultaneous translation will not be provided.
Yes, interview rooms will be available for use by the media.
Media representatives wishing to arrange interviews with EASL spokespersons or investigators whose abstracts are selected for presentation at the official Press Conference should check in onsite with the ILC Press Office.

Computers, laptop connections and printing facilities will be provided in the Press Office for members of the media. Refreshments will also be provided free of charge.

Yes, Press Conference webcasts will be made available on the media platform shortly after each conference has concluded. Access will only be granted to media representatives.

Ask The Experts
During The International Liver Congress™ 2015 you will be able to request the opportunity to interview EASL Governing Board members, EASL Scientific Committee members and other key opinion leaders in hepatology. This will be made available from April 2015.
Video, photography and AV equipment
Filming, photography and audio recording are allowed at The International Liver Congress™ 2015 but permission must be sought in advance via the filming request form, available here: filming request form.
The ILC Press Office will approve requests on a case-by-case basis. Successful requests will receive a press pass and confirmation letter for a specific time and location. Without this confirmation letter, filming/photographing/ recording will only be permitted in areas that do not require approval.
Intellectual property copyrights must be respected – any filming or photography of posters/scientific sessions may not be conducted without the permission of the authorised speaker/moderator.
The following areas do not require permission for filming, taking photographs or making audio recording:
- EASL and Industry interview rooms
- ILC Press Office
- EASL and Industry Press Conference rooms
- Outside the Main Entrance
Permission is needed for filming, taking photographs or making audio recording in the following areas:
- Scientific sessions
- Industry-organised satellite sessions
Registration area
Filming in any other part of the Congress Centre is strictly prohibited.
Any film/photo/recording shall only be used for information and communication purposes and must mention the source of the material.
Artificial light cannot be used during presentations. Flash photography at scientific presentations and plenary sessions is not allowed. EASL staff may interrupt any disruptive or hazardous filming.
Media attendees
Information regarding media registrations to attend The International Liver Congress™ 2015 belongs to EASL. EASL does not share media lists externally.
